JOB SUMMARY:

Provides secretarial and office support to staff physicians, residents, and other providers and function as a continuous link between patients and principals.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under general supervision of the registration supervisor/clinic coordinator and operations manager.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Requires knowledge of secretarial skills and office support operations; requires knowledge of medical terminology and word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Requires communication and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of six months to one year prior secretarial experience required. Experience in a clinical setting, working with multiple principals preferred.
Requires experience with computers and use of software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets and databases), triaging phone calls and composition of correspondence.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in an office environment.
