Part-time Dietary Aide Position Available:
Church of God Home, a leading non-profit Christian Retirement Community, is seeking caring and dedicated staff members to join our dietary department. Current opportunities exist for part time and full time dietary aides. Responsibilities include but are not limited to delivery of food carts, serving meals to residents, clearing tables, dish room duties and general sanitation.

Job Summary:
Applies basic skills using tools and equipment for the position. Ability to communicate and receive information with residents/co-workers to enable enhanced service. Focuses on excellent customer service and customer satisfaction. Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Major Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks of the Position:

  • Follows HACCP procedures while performing prep work to include brewing coffee, plating salads/desserts and pouring of beverages. Serves food to residents at a multiple number of tables, using proper rules of etiquette ie: proper introduction, knowledge of menu, offering beverages/refills, checking back with resident for satisfaction, attentive to needs, answering questions regarding food preparation and communicating customer concerns to kitchen staff.
  • Follows HACCP procedures while serving and replenishing from steam tables and/or tray line and breaks down areas/stations at the end of meal period, while covering, labeling and dating all food items prepared and to be stored
  • Follows daily/weekly cleaning schedule
  • Removes all garbage and solid waste from kitchen area, maintain kitchen waste cans/lids as clean and sanitary, and maintains dumpster area to ensure it is free from any debris.
  • Inventory and restock food items on resident floors, properly date and store delivered food items. (Towne Centre only)
  • Delivers and retrieve tray carts to and from resident rooms/kitchen in a timely manner.
  • Interacts with residents when delivering trays/serving food to table, assists with menu selection where applicable, communicates concerns/changes to supervisor
  • Follows all policies and procedures while washing all dishware in dish machine, maintains dishwasher temperature log
  • Follows all policies and procedures while washing cookware at three compartment sink, maintains sanitizer solution log
  • Performs day to day assignments in addition to lead duties
  • Immediately report resident related care concerns about treatment or abuse to the Department Supervisor as well as the Executive Director of the facility
  • Interact with Team Members, Residents, and Guests in a courteous and professional manner
  • Be accountable for all information in the Team Member Handbook
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident, Team Member, family and facility information
  • Understand and upholds Resident Rights
  • Follow each Residents Plan of Care
  • Follow oral and written instructions for all duties assigned and performed in an effective, timely and professional manner
  • Complete assigned tasks in accordance with organization, facility, and department procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Use supplies in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Ensure equipment is treated with proper care and is used only for the purposes and in accordance for which it was designed to be used for
  • Follow facility reporting guidelines for any equipment that is not functioning properly or is need of repair
  • Use Infection control practices, including Standard Precautions, to prevent the spread of diseases
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed
  • Complete all documentation per facility protocol and Standards of Practice
  • Follow all IT protocols, including submission of Sysaids, for all technology related issues
  • Answer call bells and assist as able
